It’s your favorite time of the week! I am back with another LYB365 Recipe of the Week, and we will be focusing on fermented ingredients that are beneficial for your gut microbiome.
Fermented foods like sauerkraut, kefir, yogurt, kombucha, and pickles all help enhance the diversity of gut microbes and decreases molecular signs of inflammation.
This Sauerkraut & Hummus recipe ensures that your gut is happy and flourishing and it only takes 10 minutes to make.
Ingredients (s):
- 1/2 cup Hummus
- 1 tbsp Hemp Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric
- Sea Salt & Black Pepper (to taste)
- 2 slices Whole Grain Bread*
- 1/4 cup Sauerkraut (drained)
- 1/2 cup Baby Spinach
*Can be substituted with a gluten free option
Instructions:
- Mix together the hummus, hemp seeds, and turmeric, until well combined. Season with salt and pepper.
- Scoop the hummus mixture onto one slice of bread. Add the sauerkraut and spinach on top.
- Close the sandwich and enjoy!
